Abby is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate (LPC-A) and a North Carolina native. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Appalachian State University, and later a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary.

Before pursuing a career in counseling, Abby worked with churches and individuals from diverse backgrounds, and spent time living in Spain, Uganda, and England. These experiences broadened her perspective and deepened her appreciation for the unique stories, strengths, and challenges that shape each person’s life. She sees it as both a privilege and a calling to walk alongside others in their journeys toward wholeness.

Abby is committed to providing a warm, empathetic, and supportive therapeutic environment where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, process life's challenges, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves. She values a holistic approach to counseling, recognizing the interconnected roles of the mind, body, emotions, and spirit in the healing process. Her approach is trauma-informed, integrative, and tailored to the unique needs of each client. Abby draws from evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, Brief Solutions-Focused Therapy, mindfulness-based approaches, Narrative Therapy, and EMDR. Abby has a special place in her heart for helping clients navigate trauma, childhood wounds, and spiritual concerns, as well working with women, adolescents, and clients of culturally diverse backgrounds. She has experience working with individuals facing anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, trauma, OCD, relational issues, adjustment disorders, chronic pain, ADHD, stress, and grief. As a Christian counselor, Abby offers faith-integrated counseling and welcomes conversations about spirituality according to each client’s preferences and comfort level.

Outside of counseling, she enjoys doing anything outdoors, cooking, and spending time with her husband and loved ones.
