Melicia Tanner is a Licensed Professional Counselor who provides compassionate, evidence-based care to adults and adolescents. Originally from Powdersville, South Carolina, she earned her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Clemson University, a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lipscomb University, and a doctorate in Community Care and Counseling with a focus in Traumatology from Liberty University.
Her clinical background includes work with the South Carolina Department of Mental Health and the Seneca Family Medicine Residency, where she developed the behavioral health curriculum for resident physicians, supported medical professional wellness, and provided integrated care in a primary care setting.
Melicia draws from cognitive-behavioral and person-centered therapies and is trained in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for PTSD and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia. She works with teens through older adults, with a special interest in helping young adults navigate life transitions.
Melicia specializes in anxiety, depression, trauma, adjustment issues, young adults, adoption, and fertility. She partners with clients to help them build insight, resilience, and practical skills for lasting change.
Outside the office, Melicia enjoys spending time with her husband and daughter, serving with her church, reading, and baking.
